The dry kiln operation at UWT consists of a 102' end loading pole kiln and a 36' long side loading square stock kiln. These kilns operate 24 hours a day 7 days a week to produce dry material for treatment and sale. The Herst Boiler operates on methane gas produced by a gasification unit turning sawdust into useable fuel. Both kilns are steam coil heated for consistency and uniformity of drying. All charges are bored for moisture content and quality of drying prior to proceeding to the next operation.
